Join us in providing vital airlift services for victims and families.
U.S. Airlift Command was founded in 2024 by a group of pilots, former military and business members who recognized the need for a regional organization dedicated to helping disaster relief victims of Hurricane Helene. Since then, we are growing a robust organization designed help all victims of disasters in the South Eastern regions.

Our mission at U.S. Airlift Command is to provide immediate assistance to disaster prone areas through the use of fixed wing and rotorcraft assets in 48 hours. Summary:
U.S. Airlift Command, Inc. (USAC) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization headquartered at Anderson Regional Airport in Anderson, South Carolina. Established to address critical needs during natural disasters, USAC specializes in providing comprehensive disaster relief and air asset assistance. Leveraging both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, our primary mission encompasses search and rescue operations, aerial delivery of essential supplies, personnel extraction, recovery efforts, and reconnaissance missions. Our work ensures rapid, effective support to disaster-affected communities, bridging gaps where traditional ground-based relief efforts may be limited or inaccessible.
**Mission and Capabilities**
USAC’s core mission is to deliver timely and impactful disaster relief through the strategic deployment of aviation resources. Our operations facilitate the transport of vital supplies—including water, food, medical provisions, generators, satellite communication devices, and other life-sustaining materials—directly to affected regions or local airports serving as distribution hubs. This mission demands a robust infrastructure, including sustained manpower, aircraft maintenance, refueling capabilities, and logistical coordination. Our team comprises skilled pilots, certified mechanics, logistics specialists, and dedicated volunteers, all working in concert to execute complex air operations. USAC maintains rigorous adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight guidance and collaborates seamlessly with local, state, federal, and military entities to maximize the reach and effectiveness of our efforts.
**Proven Impact: Hurricane Helene Response (2024-2025)**
Prior to formalizing as a 501(c)(3), USAC demonstrated its operational excellence during Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of South Carolina and North Carolina in 2024-2025. Within 24 hours of the disaster’s onset, we established a fully operational ground and air relief hub at Anderson Regional Airport. Operating around the clock, our team coordinated flights and freight services, delivering over 1 million pounds of critical supplies to affected counties. These efforts reached remote locations inaccessible by vehicle, serving thousands of victims with essentials such as water, food, batteries, generators, medical supplies, prescriptions, and communication tools like satellite phones and Wi-Fi services.
Our rapid response was powered by a combination of full- and part-time pilots, mechanics, and hundreds of volunteers who worked tirelessly—often from 5 a.m. until late at night—loading, wrapping, and strapping pallets for shipment. Through donations, fuel contributions, grassroots word-of-mouth outreach, and local media engagement, USAC provided immediate assistance, delivering specialty items to end users in under 24 hours. This operation was conducted in close partnership with local and state law enforcement, emergency services, and other relief organizations, showcasing our ability to mobilize quickly and effectively under pressure.
**Leadership and Expertise**
USAC is led by a core team of seven members, the majority of whom are prior military personnel with extensive experience and specialized skill sets. Our staff includes FAA-certified private and commercial pilots holding Part 91, 133, 135, and 137 certifications, as well as single- and multi-engine and instrument-rated qualifications. Additionally, our certified mechanics and logistics experts ensure the reliability and readiness of our aircraft fleet. Beyond our core team, USAC maintains access to a network of hundreds of subcontractors, specialists, and operators who bolster our capacity to execute large-scale disaster relief missions. Collectively, this expertise enables us to serve thousands of disaster victims, providing temporary sustainment until long-term recovery solutions are implemented by governmental and volunteer partners.
**Current Operations and Infrastructure**
Now officially registered as a nonprofit in Anderson, South Carolina, USAC operates from a state-of-the-art facility at Anderson Regional Airport. Our infrastructure includes a maintenance hangar with an attached main office, an aviation training school, and three additional hangars housing both rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility to adapt to mission demands. As a newly formed organization, USAC is actively seeking state and federal grants, private donations, and access to federal and state surplus property programs to sustain and expand our efforts. Upon securing funding, we plan to employ seven full-time staff members and provide comprehensive training to our volunteer base, further enhancing our operational capacity.
**Vision for the Future**
U.S. Airlift Command, Inc. is committed to building on its proven track record of disaster response excellence. With continued support, we aim to strengthen our fleet, expand our team, and refine our logistics framework to serve even more communities in crisis. Our goal is to remain a reliable, rapid-response partner for disaster-affected regions across the United States, ensuring that no community is left without aid when disaster strikes.
